Not so sure, after about 500km and wear is under 0.5, but 5 of the face plates have shattered right at the rivet: torn, with little chunks missing. Mechanic installed, new everything. Not sure what happened, maybe just a bad chain?

Would like to hear what you think. I’ve been hoping Tannus would release something soon for gravel, but my local shop only has MTB inserts.
I love the idea of the roll top, which seems to give a little more leeway in packing. I like my Osprey Savu, but at 4L it always seems a little tight, but it does hold my pump, tools, pockets are great for treats, and I have stuffed a gillet and tube into one of the bottle slots.
Hard part is moving my tools and supplies from bike to bike, I throw everything into the frame bag of my gravel bike, and pull them out again when I need a full pack for when you need a few litres of water on your back — plan is to design some sort of pack roll and sew it up just to make it a bit neater.
I do carry a chain breaker multi tool, every time I don’t is when I (or somebody else) needs it, of course if I have it I don’t need it.
And two pairs of gloves, cold weather + plus a lighter pair once your fingers warm up; long, long rides because it is so nice to put on dry gloves at the halfway point (somebody invent durable merino-lined gloves). Short rides one pair.
Completely forgot about my Leatherman, gotta’ be in one these pockets...next to all these zip ties.
It's my washing machine that doesn't love the the skunk stripe of grit and mud, not good for the machine, and I can't say I've been overwhelmed by seat post mounted fenders/mudguards. I've yet to actually buy one, I just pick them out of the tree half way down a trail where some one has thrown it, after the 12th time it has come unstuck, twisted at right angles, or just generally become a nuisance-I believe fender hunting season has arrived, I expect to see my first one in the next few weeks I suspect.
P.S. BruceGard, have you contacted MEC (Mountain Equipment Co-op?)

Blue lid, blue gloves, blue shirt…best dressed, must be California :)
What year is the frame 2002-2004?

Anyone hear if there is a silent recall on the "N" (as indicated by the sticker under the lever) series* Shimano XT m8000 brakes?
What happened to me was simply the effect of the bite point moving way way way out. Basically to the very beginning of the lever pull. A few turns later the bite point resets and feels normal again the rest of the way down. It really only happened when applying the brakes while riding through braking bumps at high speed. - http://forums.mtbr.com/brake-time/2016-shimano-m8000-xt-brakes-980185-4.html

Great trail, and even better man.
Sometimes I think we spent more time talking on the trail than riding, but it was always fun.
Naheeno-tree down near entrance, left-side trail, just opposite the bridge, where the trail splits.
Large tree down across lower North Road trail, just before the "U" turn.
Some one has built up some logs and broken off some branches to make a rollover, but it may be easier to just walk around the tree for the moment.
SFU: Camera Trap Project
If you have been riding through Naheeno you probably noticed the field cameras on the trees, well the students finished their project, alas four of the cameras went missing.
The class would love to get their cameras back, or even just the data.
If you can help you can contact the school directly or PM me and I will pass it on to Raime.
P.S. Trail conditions are perfect!
The new leg of the trail up has a temporary entrance just off Gaglardi Way (and west of the Nicoles).
The remaining leg is supposed to come all the way down to Nicoles, so you won't have to ride on the road at all, but the remaining section won't be done until Spring/Summer 2016.
The new trail is a nice easy climb, and very scenic.
I looked in to two german sites but they use couriers such as DHL and some I never heard of. The price was fantastic on the german sites but since I have read that DHL is questionable when it comes to duties/taxes I opted to go with what I know.
DHL is the German post system (private?), they pass on the shipment to Canada Post.
Ordering from Germany, you will pay ~$30 flat shipping rate, plus $9.95 handling, plus GST - be sure to remember to add 0.05% to your Canadian dollar for bank fees for the conversion from Euro to Canadian dollars.
Be sure to check multiple sites as they will price match, even if it is only a 0.67 Euros difference.
MMSG + HDSG total cost would be about $143 (includes shipping and handling, and conversion fees) + GST (always), so about $152 when all is said and done. Group buys are good idea to spread cost.
Caveat, not all prices are cheaper though, anything Race Face is a lot more, and some UK items too you'll being pay a bit more than buying off a UK site.
good trail day yesterday and a bunch of great work got done.

Thanks for all your effort, especially Judy and Brent! :rave:
I like the idea of tracking repairs and parts (sizes, chain lengths, serial numbers etc.), usually I just use Evernote and my calendar, but a single app looks appealing-just which one?
- Bike Repair $4.59
- Feedback Sports Bicycle Maintenance Tracker - free
- BikeSetup - free
Are three that popped up in a quick search, I'm sure there must be more.
Experiences and recommendations?
Thanks
