I end up having to rebuild my Codes more often than I would like due to that swollen piston issue.
And thanks for the reply, I might give them a go once I save up my pennies.
I'm considering getting these brakes, just wondering if anyone had had to rebuild the lever? I know with my Code RSC's the pistons eventually swell and get sticky. Are the Dominion 4's prone to this? And can you get lever rebuild kits? I tried to dig around online and on the Hayes website but only found caliper rebuild kits.
Could the increased popularity of racing have something to do with it?
Not really much opportunity to go all ham on the north shore style trail since it's mainly slow tech. There are a few exceptions, Bobsled, expresso, john deere. Which are all in amazing shape considering the ammount of traffic they get. But I do see a lot of people dropping into sensitive trails during or shortly after a monsoon.
I was a bit surprised he wasn't wearing a bucket
They look amazing but 250$ is way too rich for my blood. I already bought some spendy flats and I bent a few pins so badly it ruined the threads on the pedal body.
Looks like he caught his left foot/pedal on that stump
Great news! stoked Ladies is getting some much needed love! and that so much attention is being put on some more challenging tech trails.
Thanks ya'll
I have had 2 mountain bikes in the last 8 or 9 years and i ride at least once per week. Both happend to have 26″ wheels. It was always about getting on my bike and being out in the forest and pushing myself or riding with friends and having fun on our bikes. This who obsession with tinkering with bikes to make a profit really goes against everything this sport is about, makes me sad.. Hopefully I can keep my 26er going for a while longer.

Cheers brother!
I thought endless mostly does North Vancouver? I should have been a bit more specific that he wants to get better at jumping in the bike park, getting more comfortable on A-line, Dirt merch, any suggestions for Whistler area?
I have a friend who is not on social media ect. And wants private lessons to gain confidence and skills especially with jumping in the bike park.
Does anyone have a contact or suggestions for a good instructor?
My friend has been riding for 3 years, decent at technical trails but lacks a bit of confidence and very new to jumping.
Cheers

I think any of these new bikes will seem really long to you. But you'll get used to it. I find the steeper seat angle feels a bit odd on flat ground but the benefits for climbing are clear. The slack head angle seems like it would be an issue (because it really was on shorter bikes where your weight was oriented rearward) but because the seat angle leans you forward the bike turns really well.
You aren't between sizes. At 185cm you are definitely XL.
Depending on who you ask, he might be exactly right at 185cm and 465mm reach.
Interesting video! But I wonder if a riders arm/torso length comes into play at all? I guess that's when you would go with Rad+

You're basically on the equivalent of some modern mediums now at 465mm, with a super stubby 35mm stem to boot...
When looking at new school geo keep stack in mind too if making big lane changes in bike categories.
Depending on the brand, a modern large say at 485mm reach with a 45mm stem will feel about 3 feet longer than what you're on now, just saying.
Seated top tube reach however, with the super steep seat angles these days, will probably feel the same or shorter.
What bikes are you looking at?
My Current Megatower has a warranty issue "crack" and SC are sending me a new updated frame when it gets realased so still unsure what the get numbers will be like, I just assume it will be similar to the new Nomad in Geo.

How long is the XL? I went from 470ish to an XL @ 505 reach and loved it.
I'm back to a large now but still @490 ; with way more travel and longer stays, so similar wheel base.
I'm guessing it's going to be 500-505mm the bike I'm getting is about to be released in the next 2 months
So I'm picking up a new enduro bike soon, I'm 185cm so just under 6'1" my current bike is a megatower size large with a 35mm stem and around 465mm reach. I like my bike to feel playful and I find anytime I try out an XL I feel as though I'm driving a school bus down the trail.
My last bike before the megatower was a dinosaur from 2011 so It was a big jump going up to 29er wheels from 26" and really out of date geo so the Santa Cruz felt huge when I first started riding it and took me a long time to adapt but now I absolutely love it.
Does anyone have any experience with a similar situation or is in between sizes? Everyone tells me I should be on an XL and that I'll just get used to it. Also my wingspan is 193cm and inseam of 97cm so I'm pretty lanky.
Cheers
Here's the thing. Look where we live, the most densely populated place in British Columbia and mountain biking is getting really popular, I agree instagram is the worst. But it's bound to happen. Look what happened to Fromme when the parking lot went in. "Oh I don't have to pedal my fat ass 200m extra?"
Anything that's easy to access and close to home is going to get busy. Hence why I actually love having my weekend mid week.
Not saying they should "police" anyone, and yea I totally get that most of the trails are multi use, and I've never had a bad experience in 10 years here but it's just a bit dangerous on fast trails. Who would be best to contact if I wanted to send an email, would it be the DNV?
What I meant to say Heckler is I have never notice any signs saying MTB only or hiking only, except on Boogie nights. I just think it would be a wise move considering the traffic.
